Frequently asked questions.
DO I have to live in a certain state to receive care from dr. maly?
No, you can live anywhere and receive naturopathic healthcare from Dr. Maly. However, since Dr. Maly holds a Naturopathic license in the state of Montana and a Naturopathic registration in the state of Colorado, she is able to provide certain medical services including medical diagnostics and prescription medications (Montana only) in those states. If you have further questions, schedule a discovery call with Dr. Maly.
I DON’t LIVE IN MONTANA OR COLORADO, WILL THERE BE A DIFFERENCE IN THE CARE I RECEIVE?
You will receive the same quality of care no matter what state you reside in. Here are the main differences:
If you live outside of Montana or Colorado , I will be acting as a health consultant. I CANNOT be your doctor. That means I cannot diagnose conditions, perform physical exams, or provide treatment.
However, I CAN:
Perform a comprehensive review of your healthy history including underlying factors that may be contributing to your health concerns.
Provide education including lifestyle modifications to improve overall health.
Guide you through your options of natural therapeutics and if necessary, make referrals to other practitioners.
DO YOU ACCEPT MEDICAL INSURANCE?
No. We currently do not accept traditional health insurance. However, Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account funds may be used for consultations, at-home test kits, and supplements.
CAN WE MEET IN PERSON?
Unfortunately, not at this time.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO COMMUNICATE WITH DR. MALY?
All follow up and non-urgent questions can be submitted to Dr. Maly via a HIPAA secure text messaging system. Dr. Maly will reply within 48hrs of receiving non-urgent messages. If you have a detailed question, are experiencing a change in your symptoms, or require advice on a new or existing health issue, please schedule an appointment.
CAN YOU ORDER LAB TESTING?
Yes. If you are a Montana or Colorado resident, labs may be ordered on your behalf and covered through some insurance plans. It is recommended you check your health benefits for coverage by a Naturopathic Doctor. If you are out of state, we can drop ship you a self-order at-home lab test kit and/or provide a referral letter to your general practitioner for recommended lab work. Many lab companies also allow you to order your own tests. Dr. Maly also refers to Ulta Lab Tests for low-cost cash labs.
CAN YOU PRESCRIBE MEDICATION?
If you are a resident of Montana, certain medications can be prescribed. Out of state residents, including Colorado residents, will need to continue working with your current practitioner for medication management. Naturopathic doctors are well informed about the interactions between medications and botanicals, nutrients, and other modalities like homeopathy.
